Officers In Tampa Rescue Dogs Thrown In Trash

In Tampa, Florida a dog and her four puppies were rescued from a garbage can by officers on Monday.

According to the Tampa police, officers found the dogs in the 2200 block of 10th Street N. One of the pups was reportedly found in a plastic bag that had been tossed in the trash. The other three puppies were found under a shed, while the mother was on top of the garbage can trying to get her fourth puppy out.

“We don’t know if she was successful in getting the other three out of the can and under the shed, but she sure was trying to get that last one out,” Tampa police spokesperson Andrea Davis said.

The investigation continues and Tampa police say that the puppies are too young as of yet for adoption, but that they will be well cared for at Hillsborough County Animal Services until they are ready.
